Points of Light Award

In January of this year, I was thrilled to be given the Points of Light Award from the then Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, for my Samarivans campaign. For the fundraiser to be recognised in what it achieved, raising £43,500 for North Herts and Stevenage Samaritans, was incredible.

Points of Light are outstanding individual volunteers – people who are making a change in their community.

Inspired by a programme in the US, UK Points of Light was launched in the Cabinet Room at 10 Downing Street in April 2014.

Since then hundreds of people have been named Points of Light, highlighting an enormous array of innovative and inspirational volunteering across the length and breadth of Britain.
